PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL DALAM KOMUNIKASI ILMIAH: STUDI KASUS UKDW

Abstract


Komunikasi ilmiah menjadi bagian dari kegiatan para
akademisi. Kegiatan-kegiatan dalam komunikasi ilmiah
dapat dilakukan dengan dukungan berbagai layanan
online, salah satunya media sosial. Fokus penelitian ini
adalah mengetahui pemanfaatan media sosial untuk
kegiatan komunikasi ilmiah oleh akademisi yang
melakukan penelitian. Topik yang dibahas dalam
tulisan ini adalah hasil analisis awal penelitian yang
dilakukan. Langkah-langkah penelitian adalah
identifikasi kebutuhan data, menyusun kuesioner yang
mengadopsi dari survei Springer, mengumpulkan data,
menganalisis data dengan Anova dan Correlation, dan
menyusun temuan.
Fokus pembahasan adalah Profil responden.
Penggunaan media sosial dan layanan online untuk
kepentingan pribadi dan profesional. Penggunaan media
sosial sebagai sumber informasi mendukung komunikasi
ilmiah. Kegiatan-kegiatan terkait komunikasi ilmiah
yang dilakukan dengan layanan online/media sosial.
Setuju-tidaknya dengan pernyataan-pertanyaan terkait
karya ilmiah dan media sosial..
Berdasarkan hasil analisis awal terhadap 35 dosen
UKDW, responden cenderung menggunakan media
sosial sebagai media untuk berbagi informasi dan
berkolaborasi. Komunikasi ilmiah dilakukan tidak
melibatkan media sosial baik untuk berbagi karya,
mempromosikan karya atau pun mendapatkan sumber
informasi ilmiah
